I had a dream. It was at an Empire of the Sun concert. Or, perhaps it was more of a theatrical play? There was stadium seating; but, there was also dive bar/lounge seating. Ritz and poor were all over the venue's area. I sat in an amazing seat close by the performance.
The band: they were dressed regal with light colours and in sync with one another the way that bands do. Their performance was superb. As usual, I concentrated only on the flaws I perceived. Light blue tux and white ruffles, the band began to fly. In mid-performance they were being lifted by strings. Flying, still singing and playing their guitars as they swooped around the concert hall. Strings crossed one another regularly, yet somehow never became entangled. They danced. They flew.
The concert's pace picked up. Band members were flying over the audience. One foot almost caught my chin. That's how close they were. Someone behind my seating got up to use the facilities. Or, perhaps buy a drink? A birdman band member nestled right into his seat. He grabbed the vacated man's coat holding it up for all to see. Though sitting down, the lights made his move easily executable.
The sitting birdman (what a mask!) turned to a man sitting next to him and offered him the coat.. After a slight pause the man accepted the coat only to place it back in its original and rightful place. The birdman spoke on his microphone that it was the correct course of action. The audience cheered. The flying band member stood up and handed the do-gooder 4,000 dollars cash from out of its back pocket.
The audience cheered louder. They roared with joy and justice, in fact.
I became confused, then outraged by the plight. Power surged through my being. Then, a flash split-second transformation occurred. I turned to a dæmon. The red skin on my hide felt as though a sunburn might when it's cooled, hot and pleasant. Horns emerged from my skull. A tail that whipped with a bicerferated point. Muscles and nakedness showed the crowd a great deal.
Coursing with power, I jumped from my seat to a far corner of the auditorium. 70 yards? It did not matter. Physics weren't a high concern of mine. Only breaking common laws and rules that gave me vindication concerned me. And, in a good way.
I landed on a table by what appeared to be some punk rawkers. I danced and they cheered and called me an amazement. I, in turn, agreed by snapping my fingers and blowing them all up. I looked back at the heart of the theatre with eyes ablaze and wicked. Everyone screamed, panicked and stricken themselves with fear and loathing.

The moon had dials embedded in its crust. It was too close. Through the window, I gazed. The moon was closer than it ever had been. They misjudged, misgaged, misinterpreted the distance that the Earth was actually to the moon. Through my naked eye I could see how close the moon was to earth. It was breathtaking.

Immediately, fire.
Firewalls riddled about, blocking a straight path to get to the orcs in this Scavewyrm Pit. The Pit had filth, sludge and altered beings. I wondered about the mud. Was it made from heat sifting through walls? Not many of us gazed at the flames. I did. The rest of the party cut deep into the valley like a knife; spearheaded by Larra.
The band: all of us started with little money. Maireya, Empress of Ravens, heard there was lore to be sought-after in a Temple close by Stelloth's Site. It was his Crematorium. Tomes with important writings that Wizards & Priests used to conjure important Magick. And a blight recently left much Magick unspoken for suggesting these books well worth the journey for. The Stone Priestess, Maireya, I thought: with an Antient in her pocket, it's easy to talk of quests when you posses a wall that moves and breathes to the rhythms of your battle. Fear sometimes decides my thoughts. As for the Pit of the Scavewym..
Larra's wulf led the pack into th pit. I kept in close proximity following behind it. Sett. The wulf that dodged and protected like no other. Maireya and Elani are fearsome fighters. The thief and the Stone Priestess made their way right up the neck of the Pit. Arrows flew back at us. Some hitting the walls. Some being swallowed by the swiftness of Larra's wulf. My magick healed slights, but Elani took a bit of poison before finishing the orcs. She finds gold on monsters like no other!
Onto the next cavern.
And, with that- we were off to Torhak's Cavern: the Cavern of Knight Ghoul. Torhak, evidently championed a ghoul that knew how to use weaponry quite cleverly. With a shield far to small for his large body, he weaved in and out punching and cutting at our ranks.
Just a step away from Izchak and his famous goods.
Again, success.
We ventured through the cavern to Izchak after fighting Torhak. Some of the team went in together and bought Sequolia a magic bow. She may only use it once, but it fires incredibly fast. Elani was treated for poison and we're all ready to head to Forthstron River..
It seems the Fire demon has turned Forthstron into an inferno. 6 giant firewalls and fire spirits as far as we can see. Wish us luck. We're going to need it.
Larra's 1st kill. Executed quite well. With the Sprite on our side, healing us and hanging out in the background, we'll show Ughurth yet! Forbidden tomes of lore aren't to be bequeathed by such a monster.
Unfortunately, the Lava Pools are next. Just when we thought the sweat from our brows might finally find some coolness.. We hope Larra's wulf is guiding us in the right direction.
Whew! A heroic effort by the team.
Maireya, Elani & Larra shot through the also flames the acolyte left as illusions. We destroyed all quickly, pushing the shade into the Realm if Shadows. Sequolia healed us and we met up with Izchak & Althea at the Amaranth Inn. A Barbarian called Xoric had an itchy axe finger so the thief hired him for protection on the travels to come. She also purchased a magical feather from a phoenix. I heard wonderful stories of such. I received a mirror shield after a long discussion with Izchak. Larra ached to be on our way again, and so the next destination lie at the Mitholaq Hive.

Talk about a breeze: finally, no fire to deal with. We made split-second work of a centaur & a pryemander. Such an odd couple..
We travelled for a few days to reach our destination, but not before we came to Stelloth's Crematorium. Hyss, the giant firebyrd was ready for us and waiting. I wonder if Izchak plucked that feather he sold to me a few days earlier from this grave monster? Fire spirits; walls and a wight with the blood of a troll. Larra really does her research. I just hope Elani's Barbarian makes use of his weapon mastery here. Magic ice fyre that hinders frost.

My goodness!- another success. Elani swept in, blade slicing. We all followed her lead. Even the Sprite used her magical bow to damage some of the fire spirits. Oh, but a rumbling from beyond the next passageway. In the passageway there was an antechamber: the Crypt of Shaurath. And, in it we found some allies. Izchak "loaned" us two familiars; one of the bee family and another of the spirit family. Hopefully, they stay with us long enough to help. We can hear rocks falling from the garden of beasts just ahead. Larra purchased Vaiel's Urn. I'm not looking forward to its release.
..
Oh our goodness!- there's a behemoth crouching from the 40 foot ceiling above it chewing bones. Ughurth. The Lord of the Catacomb. And, with it shadow creatures; orcs and a small dragon. I hope fate has our side.

As it turns out, destiny was on our side. So were Urthoth & Thymaz, the Atients.

There she was. Pristine. A classic from the 1950's. Hair did. A model of her era. And I stabbed her.

I slipped the knife into her belly while she was chopping vegetables. Unawares and shocked I caught her, surprised. As the astonishment crossed her face I slit her throat. Then, pushed the knife into her gut once again.
I was shocked myself. At what a cold murderer I had become. But, I didn't want to take any chances. Especially, when this one had a blade herself.
It was keys that we were looking for.
Keys that altered time.
I couldn't make much sense of it. But, the man needed specific keys. Colourful keys. We travelled through time with him rendezvousing heists to bring back bounty with us. Bring back, to our normal time.
A band of hellternity.
